Why your ads get clicks but no leads
A click is a promise; the landing page is where it is kept or broken. How to diagnose a paid campaign that produces traffic and nothing else.

The numbers look healthy: impressions up, click-through rate above benchmark, cost per click falling. And yet the phone does not ring. This gap between clicks and leads is the most common complaint we hear about paid campaigns, and it almost always has a findable cause.
Start with the mismatch
Open the ad and the landing page side by side. Does the headline on the page repeat the promise of the ad? Is the same offer visible without scrolling? If the ad says "free consultation" and the page leads with company history, the visitor assumes they clicked the wrong thing and leaves. Message match is the first thing to fix.
Check what the page asks for
A form with nine fields converts far worse than one with three. Ask only for what you need to have a first conversation: name, a way to contact them, and one qualifying question. Everything else can be collected on the call.
Look at speed and mobile
Most paid social traffic is on a phone, on a mobile connection. A page that takes several seconds to become usable loses a large share of visitors before they see the offer. Compress images, defer scripts that are not essential, and test on a real mid-range phone rather than a laptop.
Examine the audience, then the creative
High click-through with low conversion can also mean the ad attracts the wrong people: curiosity clickers rather than buyers. Tighten targeting, add a qualifying line to the ad copy ("for clinics with more than one location"), and accept a higher cost per click for a lower cost per lead.
Creative testing that reduces wasted spend
Run a small number of genuinely different creatives — a benefit-led hook, a proof-led hook, an objection-led hook — rather than ten near-identical variations. Kill the losers weekly. The Fashion Fista campaign banner in our portfolio is an example of a single, high-contrast creative built to carry one clear message at every size it appeared in.
The order to fix things
- Message match between ad and page.
- Form length and friction.
- Page speed on mobile.
- Audience targeting and qualifying copy.
- Creative rotation and testing.
Fixing them in this order means you never optimise creative for a page that cannot convert.
