Event branding and promotion: how to fill the room and be remembered after it
An event is a brand with a deadline. The identity, the campaign timeline and the on-ground creative all have to work together — here is the structure we use.

Events compress everything difficult about marketing into a few weeks: a hard deadline, a fixed audience size, and a moment that either happens or does not. Good event branding gives every piece of promotion a recognisable face; good promotion strategy makes sure that face is seen by the right people at the right time.
Start with an identity, not a poster
The first deliverable should be a compact event identity — a name treatment, a colour and type system, a key visual — that can flex across a hoarding, a story frame, a stage backdrop and a lanyard. The Montrose Runway Fashion Week identity in our portfolio is a black-and-gold system on deep red that reads as high fashion at every one of those sizes.
A promotion timeline that matches how people decide
- Announce: the date, the place and the reason to care. One key visual, everywhere at once.
- Build: speaker, performer or highlight reveals on a steady rhythm; each is a reason to post again.
- Convert: ticket or registration pushes with urgency that is real (limited seats, early pricing ending).
- Remind: the week before, daily. Most late registrations happen here.
- Capture: on-ground content produced for the audience that could not attend.
- Extend: after the event, the recap is the first asset of next year's campaign.
On-ground creative is part of the campaign
Backdrops, standees, wayfinding and stage design are photographed thousands of times by attendees. Designed as part of the identity, they turn the audience into the promotion channel. Designed as an afterthought, they dilute everything the campaign built.
Social campaigns for events
Use a small set of templates so daily posting is fast and consistent. Give partners and speakers ready-made creatives in their own sizes so they share without redesigning. Track registrations by channel so the next edition's budget goes where the audience actually came from.
